Frequently Asked Questions
How does delivery, returns and contact work?
UK delivery is free on orders over £50, with a flat rate below that. Orders ship within one working day from our Cotswolds workshop, packed in recyclable materials. Returns are accepted within 30 days for a full refund, with no restocking fees. If something arrived damaged or you need help choosing, email hello@backyardbliss.co.uk and we usually reply within a few hours.
How big is the Gorgeous Green Frog Ornament?
Pocketable rather than a focal point. The piece is sized for a pond rim, the lip of a water basin or the base of a hosta, where it sits at close approach and the eye finds the green among the planting. Full dimensions and current price are on the product page.
Is the green colour accurate to a British frog?
The paint goes for the field colour of a common frog or pool frog: a sap-green back with a darker dorsal stripe, a cream-yellow belly, glossy eyes. It is closer to a healthy summer frog than the muddier brown of a winter-coloured one. Against grey stone or dark planting the green reads cleanly.
Will it survive a British winter on a pond rim?
Yes. Cast resin throughout, frost-proof, with UV-stable paint. A winter on a damp stone coping is the spot the piece was designed for. If a thick frost crust builds up, lifting the frog off the stone for a day to dry helps, but it does not need winter storage. The green holds through several seasons without fading.
Where in the garden does the frog sit best?
First choice is the rim of a small pond, back legs tucked against the coping stone. Second is the lip of a half-barrel water feature or a stone basin. Third is a damp hosta corner, where the broad leaves keep the piece shaded and the green reappears as you walk past. Avoid open sun-baked gravel, the pose suits shade and damp.
How is it different from a stone frog?
Cast resin gives a brighter colour and a lighter piece, easier to lift on and off a pond rim. A reconstituted-stone frog would be heavier, would gather lichen, and would settle into a grey patina rather than holding the sap-green. We do not carry a stone frog in this range; the cast-resin Gorgeous Green is the one piece in stock.
What pairs well with the frog at the pond edge?
A snail or two from the snail garden ornaments range a foot or so back from the water, in damp shaded soil. A tortoise from the tortoises and snails hub on a sun-warmed flagstone a couple of paces away gives a contrasting basking pose. Keep the pond rim itself uncluttered, one frog is plenty.
