How the Asian pieces are placed differently

A Buddha head wants close approach. Try a low plinth, a paving pad at a path end, or low planting at seated eye level from a nearby bench. The metre-tall XXL needs a proper load-bearing base (a paving slab on compacted hardcore, or poured concrete) so it stays level through a wet winter. A seated full Buddha is the lawn-distance piece, set three or four paces back from a path edge so the silhouette reads against a clipped hedge or sky. The Bali Face Set pair flanks a gate or a step. The Ganesh suits a tucked, sheltered corner.

Finish, care and the first two wet autumns

The cast-stone pieces (XXL Buddha, 60cm Head, Bali Face Set, Hand Chairs) green softly over the first two wet autumns as moss and lichen settle in. Most owners leave them alone after the first winter, the material reads better with a patina than freshly placed. The resin pieces (Beautiful Buddha, Praying Ganesh, Frenchie Yoga) are frost-proof out of the box and hold paint colour for several seasons. A soft brush and warm water once a year clears windblown debris. Skip the power wash on any painted finish.
