About Bird Garden Ornaments & Statues

Bird Garden Ornaments: The Whole Bird Catalogue in One Range

Birds at Backyard Bliss is the whole-bird range, every bird-shaped piece we carry gathered in one place. Around forty pieces in the run: the Pair of Ducks, Perky Penguins, Emperor Penguins, a Goose Ornament, the Graceful Geese Pair, Hennie Hen, the Pear Shaped Copper Bird Feeder, the Apple Bird Feeder, the Bird in Hands Birdbath, the Colourful Kingfisher, the Radiant Robins, the Grey Dove Planter, and the Fairy on Bird. Cast resin, copper and metal across the range.

The decorative bird pieces

The duck pieces (Pair of Ducks, Pair of Mini Ducks, Pair of Bronze Ducks, the 3pc Family of Metal Ducks, Content Duck) cover pond-edge and paving-corner placement at several finishes. Perky Penguins and Emperor Penguins hold the dressier piece corner. The Colourful Kingfisher is the brightest single-bird piece, the Grey Dove Planter the calmest. The Radiant Robins pair holds a pot rim with bright red breasts. Hennie Hen, Rascally Rooster and Golden Hen sit alongside as the farmyard birds. The goose pieces are the Goose Ornament and the Graceful Geese Pair.

The feeders and the birdbath

The working pieces real birds visit sit in this range too. The Pear Shaped Copper Bird Feeder, the Apple Bird Feeder and the Apple + Pear Bird Feeder Combo are the copper hangers, weathering into verdigris over a winter or two. The Copper Bird Feeder is the open-tray classic. The Fish Shaped Bird Feeder is the playful pond-edge piece. The Metal Bird Feeder Set, the Metal Grate Bird Feeder and the Modern Bird Feeder cover the cleaner metal aesthetic. The Bird in Hands Birdbath is the cupped-hands shallow-basin centrepiece.

Where the bird range sits in a garden

A bird collection has a logic: decorative pieces near the eye, feeders within a few wingbeats of cover, baths on a flat paving pad. The Ducks group at a pond edge or a flagstone corner. The Kingfisher belongs at the front of a wildflower strip on its low stake. The Robins sit on a pot rim where the eye finds them at close approach. The feeders hang on apple branches or off fence posts six to ten feet from a hedge. The Birdbath wants a flat pad three or four paces from a shrub the birds can flit to for cover.

Cast resin, copper and metal through a wet year

Most decorative pieces are cast resin with painted finishes that hold colour through several British seasons. The copper feeders develop a soft verdigris through the first wet winter, deepening into a richer patina by the second season. The metal feeders hold their finish through several seasons with a wipe twice a year. The Birdbath wants its basin emptied before a hard frost so the painted rim does not lift.

For the breakouts by finish and silhouette, see metal bird garden ornaments and modern bird garden ornaments. For the working pieces real birds use, bird feeders and baths. For the single-bird shapes, the robin, owl, peacock, penguin and duck ranges. For the chicken and goose pieces, chicken garden ornaments and goose garden ornaments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does delivery, returns and contact work?

UK delivery is free on orders over £50, with a flat rate below that. Orders ship within one working day from our Cotswolds workshop, packed in recyclable materials. Returns are accepted within 30 days for a full refund, with no restocking fees. If something arrived damaged or you need help choosing, email hello@backyardbliss.co.uk and we usually reply within a few hours.

Which bird piece is the safe first buy?

The Pair of Ducks is the steady first piece: a sculptural pair in cast resin sized for a pond edge or a flagstone corner, reads well at three or four paces. After that, the Radiant Robins pair on a pot rim and the Colourful Kingfisher on a low stake build a small bird tableau across a planted border. Build outward from one piece rather than trying to populate the garden in one go.

Are the feeders actually used by real birds?

Yes. The copper and metal feeders are working pieces, sized and shaped for blue tits, goldfinches, sparrows and other small garden birds. Place them within a few wingbeats of cover (a hedge, a climbing rose, an apple-tree skirt) so the visiting birds feel safe to land. The Bird in Hands Birdbath is the working bath equivalent, with a shallow basin small birds wade in.

Will copper feeders turn green outdoors?

Yes, slowly. The copper develops a soft verdigris over the first wet winter, deepening through the second season. Most owners leave the patina, it grounds the copper against ivy and dark fencing. If you prefer bright copper, a polish with a soft cloth and a copper-friendly cleaner once a year restores it. Either way the feeder works the same.

Which decorative bird piece holds a focal-point spot?

The Bird in Hands Birdbath is the natural focal point: sculptural cupped hands holding a shallow basin, sized for a flat paving pad at the centre of a planted corner. Beyond that, the Colourful Kingfisher on a stake works as a height accent at the front of a long border, and the Pair of Ducks reads well at a pond edge. The Robins are close-pass pieces rather than focal points.

How do penguin and goose pieces fit into a garden?

Penguins (Perky, Emperor, Mini) suit a dressy paving-corner spot where the upright pose reads at a few paces back. The Goose Ornament and the Graceful Geese Pair belong at a paddock corner or a gravel-path edge near a vegetable patch, where geese would actually wander. Neither group needs water nearby, the silhouette does the work.

How is the range split below this top level?

The working pieces sit in bird feeders and baths. The decorative pieces split by finish across metal bird garden ornaments and modern bird garden ornaments. The single-bird ranges (robin, owl, peacock, penguin, duck) each carry one bird shape. The farmyard birds sit in chicken and goose.
