Yes, the Pair of Sitting Lion Statues is reconstituted cast stone. That gives the gatepost weight, the level gaze a stone lion needs, and the lichen patina that develops over a couple of damp winters. They are noticeably heavier than the cast-resin Majestic Lion Set, and they want a flat platform underneath rather than bare turf.

Yes, that is the placement they were carved for. Set one on each brick pier either side of a driveway entrance, with the heads turned slightly inward so the gaze meets the line of the drive. If your piers are tall, a flat capping stone underneath the lion gives the base something stable to sit on through winter freeze-thaw.

The Tiger Cub Statue is cast resin, smaller, and painted in the orange-and-black field colour of a real cub. He is a close-pass piece for a porch corner or the foot of a planted step, not a gatepost guardian.
