Three. The bird feeders are hand-formed copper (Pear, Apple, Modern, the combo) or powder-coated steel (the Grate and the Metal Bird Feeder Set). The Turtle is cast aluminium. The Giraffes, the Bull, the Zebra and the Rhino are welded steel with a brown-patinated finish that reads bronze from a few paces back. No solid bronze, no zinc.

Yes, over a couple of British winters. Out of the workshop they read coppery-bright. Wet weather and a few cycles of frost soften the surface to the bluish-green verdigris most buyers want. If you prefer the bright copper for longer, a soft wax once a year slows the patina, but most gardeners are happy to let it happen.

The 5ft Giraffe and the Preening Pair sit fine in a normal back-garden planted corner. The Life-Size Bull, Zebra and Rhino are bigger again, paddock-edge, driveway-sweep, country-property pieces rather than small-back-garden statues. None of them. Powder-coated steel, welded patinated steel and aluminium all handle a wet January and a July heatwave without issue. Copper just keeps weathering. The Aluminium Turtle is fine on a step or windowsill year-round. A soft sponge wash once a year keeps the brown patina on the giraffes crisp.

Very little. A soft sponge wash once a year, more often if a piece sits beside a busy road that throws up grime. Avoid leaving the giraffes' feet directly in sodden mulch through winter; a paver or flagstone underneath extends the patina. No sealant needed.

Different game. Cast-resin bronze-effect pieces (the bronze hare, bronze deer or bronze pig ranges) are painted resin, lighter, smaller, less expensive. The pieces here are actual metalwork, with the heft, the patina and the long-term weight that goes with it.
