Frequently Asked Questions
How does delivery, returns and contact work?
UK delivery is free on orders over £50, with a flat rate below that. Orders ship within one working day from our Cotswolds workshop, packed in recyclable materials. Returns are accepted within 30 days for a full refund, with no restocking fees. If something arrived damaged or you need help choosing, email hello@backyardbliss.co.uk and we usually reply within a few hours.
How tall are the large hares and will they read from the far end of a border?
All three sets stand over 40cm at the ears. They read cleanly from the far end of a meadow border or wildflower bed, rather than being lost among taller perennials. The boxing pair carries the most movement, the moon-gazers a quieter vertical line, both work at a sight distance of several paces.
Will the ears and paws hold up through frost without snapping?
Yes. The cast resin is rated frost-proof and the ears are reinforced through the mould rather than glued on, so a hard January frost doesn't catch them. The paws have weight bearing down through the haunch into the base, so the structure is solid even at the alert pose.
Is the bronze finish real bronze?
No. The bronze tone is a painted finish on cast resin: you get the weathered-metal look without the weight, the cost, or the theft risk of solid bronze. The pigment is UV-stabilised and holds colour for several seasons.
How heavy are the pairs and can one person move them?
Each pair lifts comfortably with two adults and no trolley. A single person can reposition a pair across a short distance, though resting them on a flat surface during the move is easier on the back. Once placed, the resin base keeps them stable against wind without pegging.
Which pair suits a shaded corner versus an open border?
The Moon-Gazing Graphite Hares sit best in a shaded corner where the upward tilt shows against overhanging foliage. The boxing pair (March Hares and New Bronze March Hares) wants an open sight line, three or four paces back from a path edge, so the ears shows against sky or clipped hedge rather than disappearing into a tall perennial.
Do the pairs stay together as a set, or can I buy singles?
All three are stock pairs at this scale tier, sold and shipped together. If you'd prefer single hares to add to an existing grouping, the smaller scale tiers in the parent hare garden ornaments range include singles.
