About Farm Animals

Farm Animal Garden Ornaments: Pigs, Cows, Sheep, Ducks, Chickens and a Stallion

Farm animals at Backyard Bliss is the whole-farmyard range: every smallholder-suited piece we carry in one place. Around forty pieces in the run, from the Bronze Happy Pig and Rasher the Pig in the smallholder corner to the Dairy Cow, the Fuzzy Sheep Set of 3 and the Pair of Ducks at the working-paddock edge. Hennie Hen, Rascally Rooster and the Graceful Geese Pair sit alongside as the farmyard birds. The Stunning Stallion Bust and the Life Size Metal Bull anchor the larger working-stock pieces.

The pigs, cows and sheep

The Bronze Happy Pig Garden Ornament and Rasher the Pig hold the pig corner at smallholder scale, painted bronze and warm-toned finishes that read against soil and timber. The Pair of Bronze Pigs is the coordinated pair, the Happy Pig (white) is the contrast piece, the Pink Pig Family Ornament Set groups a sow with piglets, and the Sitting Elegant Pig is the dressier sculptural piece. The Dairy Cow and the Curvy Cows hold the cow corner, with the Life Size Metal Bull and the Stallion Heads at the larger scale. The Fuzzy Sheep Set of 3, Chunky Sheep and Lovely Lambs cover the sheep pieces.

The farmyard birds and the working dogs

The Pair of Ducks, the Pair of Mini Ducks, the Pair of Bronze Ducks and the Aluminium Duck Pair are the duck pieces, sized for a pond edge or a flagstone corner near water. The 3pc Family of Metal Ducks adds a coordinated working-farm group. Hennie Hen, Rascally Rooster and Golden Hen sit alongside as the chicken pieces, with the Graceful Geese Pair, the Goose Ornament and the Gorgeous Green Geese Pair as the geese. The Working Border Collies group is the working-farm dog piece, joined by the Life-Size Standing Bull Terrier and the Life Size Johnson Bulldog for stockier silhouettes.

Where the farmyard pieces sit

A working farmyard tableau wants three or four coordinated pieces at a shared corner rather than one solo piece. A gravel path beside a vegetable patch, a paddock corner, a stone-edged raised bed, a coop-entrance flagstone. The pigs hold a corner near soil and timber. The ducks belong at water. The chickens want a working-corner path. The sheep group on a grass-edge. The Stallion Heads and Life Size Metal Bull anchor a paddock end.

Cast resin, cast stone and a wet British year

Most farmyard pieces are cast resin with painted finishes built for freeze-thaw, holding colour through several seasons. The cast-stone pieces develop a softer lichen patina over a couple of winters. The metal pieces hold finish through several seasons with a wipe twice a year. A soft brush across painted detail clears pollen, skip the power wash on painted resin.

For the strict pig pieces, see pigs and bronze pig garden ornaments. For the duck pieces, ducks and small duck garden ornaments. For the chicken pieces, chicken garden ornaments. For the goose pieces, goose garden ornaments. For the sheep pieces, sheep garden ornaments, lamb garden ornaments and life size sheep garden ornaments. For the cow pieces, life size cow garden ornaments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does delivery, returns and contact work?

UK delivery is free on orders over £50, with a flat rate below that. Orders ship within one working day from our Cotswolds workshop, packed in recyclable materials. Returns are accepted within 30 days for a full refund, with no restocking fees. Which pieces are the safe-bet starting points for a smallholder garden?

The Bronze Happy Pig and the Pair of Ducks are the steady first pieces: a pig at the corner of a gravel path beside a vegetable patch, a duck pair on a flagstone corner near water. After that, Hennie Hen at the coop entrance and the Fuzzy Sheep Set of 3 on a grass-edge corner. Build outward from one or two pieces rather than trying to populate the paddock in one go.

Are most pieces cast resin or cast stone?

Most are cast resin with painted finishes built for outdoor life, lighter to position and frost-proof. The cast-stone pieces are the heavier anchors (Highland Cow Stone Statue, larger sheep pieces), developing a softer lichen patina over a couple of winters. The metal pieces (Aluminium Duck Pair, 3pc Family of Metal Ducks, Life Size Metal Bull) are the more durable working-farm pieces.

Where should farmyard pieces sit in a garden?

Anywhere a real flock or herd would actually wander. Pigs near soil and timber, ducks near water, chickens at a coop entrance or a working path, sheep on a grass edge or beside a stone wall. Avoid open lawn for the smaller pieces, they read too small at five paces. A working corner with several pieces grouped together reads stronger than one solo piece.

What pairs well as a farmyard grouping?

Three or four coordinated pieces at a shared corner: a pig, a duck pair, a hen and a goose at a gravel-path edge tells the eye that this is a working farmyard corner. The Pig and Ducks Farmyard Friends Ornament Set groups a pig with two ducks in one piece, a ready-made starting point. Add a Working Border Collies group or a Stallion Bust for the working-stock end.

Will the farmyard pieces sit out through a UK winter?

Yes. Cast resin, cast stone and metal throughout, all built for freeze-thaw on damp paving without cracking. Tip standing water off any horizontal surface before a hard frost. A soft brush across painted detail once or twice a year clears pollen. None of the pieces need winter storage. The metal pieces benefit from a wipe twice a year to keep the finish clean.

Which farm-animal piece is the statement anchor?

The Life Size Metal Bull is the statement piece in the range, a full-scale working-farm bull in painted metal that anchors a paddock end. The Stunning Stallion Bust holds a similar focal-point spot at smaller scale. For the cow corner, the Highland Cow Stone Statue (in the wider range) is the heavier anchor. For the pig corner, the Pair of Bronze Pigs as a coordinated pair.

How does this range link to the strict subject ranges?

The farm-animals range gathers every smallholder piece in one place. The strict ranges break out by subject: pigs, ducks, chickens, sheep, geese. Use this range for a mixed grouping, the strict ranges for one subject at depth.
