The pair are sculpted side-on with raised trunks and the trunk-wrinkle detail picked out in matte paint, looking like a young family pair at close range rather than as a knick-knack on the wrong surface.

Yes. Cast resin throughout, frost-proof straight from the workshop, with UV-rated paint that holds colour through several seasons. Neither piece needs bringing in for winter. Tipping standing water off the back before a hard frost extends the finish further, and lifting them off bare earth onto a flat paving pad, a tile or a doorstep keeps the matte paint dry underneath.

A silver or grey brushed paint finish over a cast-resin body, slimmer than the Mini Set and finished to catch a side angle in low afternoon light. The silver lifts against dark planting (clipped box, a hosta foliage backdrop, a fern bed) and the grey deepens slightly with age rather than fading flat, which most owners prefer to the straight-from-mould finish.

Yes, the surface matters more than the size. A flat paving pad, a tile, a flat stone, a doorstep or the rim of a glazed pot all work. Bare earth or cut lawn flattens the read at this scale. Damp wicks up from earth and softens the matte finish faster than airflow over a flat dry surface does, so lifting the pieces a few millimetres above the ground extends the paint life.

A soft brush over the Mini Set's trunk-wrinkle detail once a year keeps pollen and windblown debris out of the carving. The Elegant Elephant's brushed silver-grey takes a wipe with a soft cloth rather than a brush. Skip the power wash on either piece, it scuffs harder on small painted resin than people expect. Warm water and a soft cloth handles anything routine.
